PROJECTS
Havenville, Poynders Road, Clapham
The Havenville project involved a comprehensive, back-to-brick restoration of a substantial five-bedroom detached residence in Clapham. Recognizing the sensitivity of the circumstances, we provided a compassionate, "hand-holding" service from the very start, managing the full clearance of furniture and personal effects following probate. Our team then executed a full-scale overhaul, beginning with the removal of all legacy electrical and plumbing systems to make way for a modernized infrastructure, including a high-efficiency boiler system and an integrated electric vehicle charging point. Preserving the property's historical character was paramount; we meticulously repaired original ornate coving and ceiling roses, while original stained glass was carefully retained alongside the installation of high-performance double glazing.
The interior was thoughtfully reconfigured to enhance spatial flow, featuring a bespoke kitchen and contemporary bathrooms. To maintain the home’s authentic charm, all original doors were professionally stripped and finished with Dutch oil. Externally, we enhanced the property's curb appeal by creating a second driveway and laying new paving to the front and rear. Following a full internal and external redecoration to the client's exacting specifications, we provided a seamless end-to-end service by managing all necessary certifications and overseeing the final sale of the property.
The Clapham Project
The approach to the property was completely reimagined to create an impactful first impression. We replaced the tired frontage with a traditional Victorian-style tiled path, featuring classic geometric patterns and intricate borders that pay homage to the home's 19th-century origins. This was complemented by:
-
New Driveway Construction: Utilizing permeable resin or high-grade York stone to balance practical off-street parking with aesthetic elegance.
-
Architectural Landscaping: A full redesign of the rear garden, transforming it into a tranquil urban sanctuary with structured tiered planting, porcelain paving for "inside-outside" flow, and ambient external lighting.
-

To restore the home’s soul, we focused on reinstating the architectural focal points that are often lost over time. The reception room, which had been stripped of its character, now features a hand-carved marble fireplace, serving as a grand centerpiece that anchors the room.
Throughout the rest of the property, we ensured thematic consistency by:
-
Bedroom Fireplaces: Refurbished the cast-iron fireplaces in the primary bedrooms, complete with slate hearths and period-correct detailing.
-
Cornicing & Ceiling Roses: Repairing or replacing intricate plasterwork to match the scale of the new hearths.
-
Material Harmony: Ensuring the cool tones of the marble and the industrial strength of the cast iron work in tandem with the modern "back-to-brick" upgrades.
The Rosendale Project
The project at Chester Road, Gillingham, represents a sophisticated "value-add" strategy by a Southeast-based investor looking to capitalize on the region's robust rental demand. By taking a property that had been untouched for 50 years and executing a full back-to-brick refurbishment, the investor has transitioned the asset from a dated "time capsule" into a high-performance rental unit. The redesign—centered on a large ground-floor kitchen and a professional loft conversion—successfully pivots the property to target the premium family or professional sharer market. In an era where tenants increasingly prioritize energy efficiency and "work-from-home" space, the addition of a fourth ensuite bedroom and full double glazing ensures the property stands out as a top-tier listing in the competitive Medway market.
